Today's Top Stop: Instant Drama
YOU'VE SEEN THE MOVIE "48 Hours," now, see the movie made in 48 hours. A bunch of them, actually. The 48 Hour Film Project set out to prove that watchable flicks don't need months and months of planning if you're ambitious, and functional while sleep-deprived, enough. So teams of filmmakers spread out across the city, finding those perfect (or well-it-will-have-to-do) locations, figuring out ways to procure props with immediacy, hashing out plots on the spot, and learning that creative differences are violently apparent when on a two-day deadline. Those who persevered now have something to show you -- either that movie making isn't meant to be a marathon, or that Hollywood could do with some shorter schedules.
