Tonight's Top Stop: Danielson at State Theatre
IT'S HARD TO KNOW what to make of Daniel Smith. Is he a postmodern rocker? Performance artist? A man moved by faith? All of the above? The New Jersey-born founder of the confusing Christian art-rock ensemble Danielson Famile plays dress-up and makes nigh-inaccessible music in his quest to spread the Good News. He and his siblings pose as doctors and nurses, trees and in other guises; Daniel sings in an unhandsome tenor and the whole family — now known as just Danielson — makes an unholy, er, that is holy racket.

I've heard the Danielson Family (famile?) on the Bored Again Christian podcast and my reaction to their music can be summed up as WTF? Racket is a good word. $8, not a bad price.
