Tonight's Top Stop: Danielson at State Theatre

Courtesy Creative Arson ProductionsIT'S HARD TO KNOW what to make of Daniel Smith. Is he a postmodern rocker? Performance artist? A man moved by faith? All of the above? The New Jersey-born founder of the confusing Christian art-rock ensemble Danielson Famile plays dress-up and makes nigh-inaccessible music in his quest to spread the Good News. He and his siblings pose as doctors and nurses, trees and in other guises; Daniel sings in an unhandsome tenor and the whole family — now known as just Danielson — makes an unholy, er, that is holy racket.

  • I've heard the Danielson Family (famile?) on the Bored Again Christian podcast and my reaction to their music can be summed up as WTF? Racket is a good word. $8, not a bad price.
