Tonight's Top Stop: Folklife Festival
IF YOU'VE SPENT ANY TIME on the Mall these past two weeks, you've noticed the activities set up for the Smithsonian Folklife Festival, which features the Canadian province of Alberta, "Nuestra Musica" of Latino Chicago, the African-American inspired music of New Orleans and the art of Native American basketry. And if you haven't journeyed down to the Mall yet for fear of being trampled by tourists, now's your chance: There's just one night of festivities left, and a good number of the fireworks-goers have likely skipped town.
Tonight's scheduled offerings include a "Nuestra Musica" concert, "The Essence Sones de Mexico AfriCaribe" and a show entitled "Wild Roses, Northern Lights: Songs of Alberta," both of which are scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m. For more information, check out tonight's schedule of events and exhibits here.
