When Pandas Attack!

YESTERDAY, we told you about a Web site that's all about cute animals — y'know, the kind you've been looking at ad nauseam since the little butterstick-sized Tai Shan graced the world with his presence. But today, we offer a warning: pandas aren't for cuddling. They can be vicious creatures.

This week, a panda in China bit off part of a 50-year American woman's thumb. Reports the Xinhua news agency via the AP:

When she cried out, the cub became excited and gripped more tightly... . Lisa finally managed to wrench herself free.
Could little Tai Shan be plotting a similar attack while he's nuzzling a stalk of bamboo or taking an adorable little nap in a tree? Maybe it's good he's being sent back to China.

Screencapture» LOOK FAMILIAR? There's a lot to love about bacon — and blogger Bacon Unwrapped revels in the meat product's greasy goodness. With a recent post, though, we're getting the idea the blogger is admiring bacon's sizzle from a D.C.-area perch, considering this post about a bacon-related dish from Equinox's Todd Gray. Does anyone recognize "the firm" (we're not sure if its a law, PR or other firm) in this photo? Apparently the blogger sees subliminal bacon in the hallway art. Is anyone else hungry?
