Photo courtesy HasbroWHICH ETERNALLY YOUTHFUL television host authored the "Easygoing Guide to Good Grooming" in 1986? Those who answered Dick Clark should reserve Thursday for a party that'll make ample use of their talents, because Jan. 4 is Trivia Day!

"Include trivia in the invite," suggested Rob Daviau, a senior game designer for Hasbro, maker of Trivial Pursuit. "Serve a lot of foods that people haven't eaten before, then explain where it's from and why you're serving it." Play CDs and try to name the artist and the year each song was released, or watch DVDs with the sound off to see if you can quote your favorite lines.

In preparation for his own celebration, Daviau, who was offered a job at Trivial Pursuit after acing a quiz of 10,000 useless facts, plans to brush up on Russian history (including all the czars), reread every People magazine since 1974, brush up on extinct species, memorize every World Series game, then curl up with some cocoa and read a world atlas cover to cover.
