Expect Delays on Green, Yellow Lines Downtown

Courtesy WMATAIF THIS WAS THE WEEKEND you planned on testing out Metro's newly expanded Yellow Line service to Fort Totten, you might want to think again. That's because the subway route the two lines share through downtown Washington will experience some significant track maintenance on Saturday and Sunday, forcing trains to share the same track between the point the two lines merge south of L'Enfant Plaza and the Mount Vernon Square-7th Street-Convention Center station.

Metro is warning of 15-20 minute delays starting at midnight and lasting through closing Sunday.

Also, ongoing rail car testing will force Green Line trains to share the same track between the College Park-U of Md. and Greenbelt stations.
