New Va. Road 'Missile' Case Involves Stun Gun

CAN WE BRAND the latest Northern Virginia road rage case involving a flying liquid "missile" as "Java Jolt" ... ?

Clip ArtThe attorney for Allen Tat Le, a man accused throwing a cup of coffee at fellow motorist Tu Phung in Fairfax County, says that the latest case "is not 'Stafford II,'" referring to the recent "McMissile" case in Stafford County, in which a 25-year-old mother was found guilty of throwing a McDonald's cup full of ice at a car on I-95. As The Post's Tom Jackman reports, this case is indeed very different: It involves a stun gun, too.

Here's a snippet from Jackman's description of the confrontation:

Phung said that Le then got out of his car and kicked Phung's driver's-side door. Phung, a contractor who admits to having been in his share of scrapes, started to climb out, with his family trying to pull him back in.

Phung said Le slammed the door on his leg, then leaned into his vehicle and punched and shocked him with an electric stun gun.

It's a good thing that such instances of road rage haven't spread to Metrorail during rush hour. Monday's evening commute would have been even uglier.
