In Shaw, a Victory for Vegeate
IT SEEMS THAT that long quest to secure a liquor license for Shaw's Vegetate restraurant is nearing a conclusion.
Shiloh Baptist Church, which has opposed the vegetarian restaurant's request to serve alcohol for the past year, failed to get its protestants to a Wednesday's Alcoholic Beverage Control Board meeting on Vegetate's alcohol beverage license application, forcing the ABC board to reject the church's protest. As Alexander Padro, an advisory neighborhood commissioner, writes at the Life in Mount Vernon Square blog, "there are no further obstacles to Vegetate receiving their liquor license," barring a successful appeal by the church, which seems unlikely.

Addison Road
woo-hoo....now if we can just get them to divest of their property in the neighborhood and let 9th street become the great throroughfare that it could be.
