McAllen Chamber of Commerce: Wall D.C. In

Photo by Spencer Platt/Getty ImagesWATCH OUT, WASHINGTON: There are some people in McAllen, Texas, who would like to keep the nation's capital fenced in.

Why? There's some backlash over the Department of Homeland Security's plan to construct a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border. So the local Chamber of Commerce is launching a campaign to build a wall around Washington, D.C.

"It can protect us from some bad characters, some bad legislation and bad ideas," Chamber of Commerce president Steve Ahlenius told the San Antonio Express-News.

We'll see if that plan gains any traction ...

  • I like their idea. Protection from Tourists & DC/VA Drivers? Rock and roll.

    Until then, though, perhaps we should recognize the importance of keeping track of the foreign nationals who enter our country, given the broad anti-American sentiment throughout the world today.

    Ctizens deserve the safety that they are forced to pay for with 35% of their salaries.
