D.C. Police to Put 'All Hands on Deck' Next Week

THE SIDEWALKS of the District will glow blue once again on Monday and Tuesday. D.C. Police Chief Cathy Lanier, pictured at right, has called on her department to implement its third "all hands on deck" session of the summer, meaning all 3,300 officers will be working street patrol, The Post's Allison Klein reports.

The last "all hands on deck" session was this past weekend, so if you see officers out on patrol, give 'em a wave — they've been hard at work. And if you see them on Segways, try not to snicker.
