2 Injured in Early Morning Shooting Downtown
DOWNTOWN D.C. is usually pretty quiet on a holiday weekend. But not today: Two people were apparently injured during an early morning shooting outside an office building on 21st St. NW.
Police have confirmed that one person was shot in the foot, the other in the buttocks. Officials are searching local hospital records for other potential victims.
The incident took place at around 3 a.m. outside the Lafayette Centre office building, which houses the Galleria, a large atrium that can be rented for social events, The Post's Howard Schneider and Debbi Wilgoren report.
Police Lt. Vanessa Moore told The Post it wasn't clear what kind of event was being held there or what precipitated the shooting.
