D.C. MAYOR ADRIAN FENTY did the talking during an appearance at the new Nationals stadium on Tuesday, but it was the newly laid grass and other details that got most of the attention.

The Kentucky bluegrass sod — shipped in, oddly enough, from twang-less New Jersey — arrived last week in 58 rolls, Fenty said. Installation was completed on Nov. 9, and Fenty said the stadium is still on-schedule and on-budget.

The video above, shot by washingtonpost.com's Akira Hakuta, contains not only remarks by Fenty, but details on the proximity of the seats to the field ("You're right in the damn game," exclaimed Nats President Stan Kasten. "That's awesome," Fenty said.) and the massiveness of the scoreboard video screen ("Look at the size of that! It's HD!" said Kasten. "That's huge," Fenty said.).
