People: Travis Barker Dead?

RUMOR WRANGLING: Is former Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker dead? We don't know. But a lot of people are playing the speculation game.

Apparently 'Travis Barker dead' is one of the most popular searches on Google right now. The blogosphere is abuzz with the rumor that the musician was found dead in his garage on November 13, a day before his birthday. There's even been a MySpace bulletin about the story.

So we did what a reporter does best: We got extremely nosy.

We've emailed his band +44's label to ask them for confirmation. It's been almost an hour and we haven't heard a peep from them yet.

So now we're just confused. Wouldn't they confirm it was a rumor quickly if it was? Or maybe they have no idea either? Or maybe he really is dead? Stay tuned; we'll update when we hear from someone. In the meantime we'll be repeatedly reloading his wife's MySpace page. [Bitten and Bound; MySpace]
