Pantless Metro Outing Planned for Saturday

FOLLOWING IN THE FOOTSTEPS of some brave and daring New Yorkers, a group of D.C.-area residents are planning what is likely the area's first organized pantless Metrorail ride.

According to DCist:

The organizers, Elizabeth Ody and Richard Julian, are asking anyone who'd like to ride Metro without pants this weekend to show up at 4 p.m. on Saturday at the Dupont Circle fountain (please wear pants to the rally point), where they'll get you organized into groups and send you off to different Metro lines in an attempt to blanket the rail system with the pantsless.
We checked in with Metro to see if riding around on public transit without pants violates any rules. Spokeswoman Lisa Farbstein suggests that Metrorail riders should wear clothes or risk arrest for indecent exposure or disorderly conduct. Plus, Farbstein says: "Then there's always that age-old question — what would your grandmother say if she saw you?"

Good point.

  • What, you did not notice how the spokeswoman cleaverly dodged the question? Of course one should wear clothes on the Metro - no one is suggesting that people go naked and underwear are clothes. In fact some men's underwear are less revealing than some women's booty short and some men's running shorts. And I've never seen any of them arrested! Why didn't you pin her down specifically about wearing underwear (not see-thru or thong) and no pants? And who cares about what there Grandmother would say? Certainly not have of the young girls on the metro!
