washingtonpost.com Snags CapitalWeather.com

STARTING ON TUESDAY, the excellent crew of weather forecasters at CapitalWeather.com will have a new home: washingtonpost.com.

According to Capital Weather's chief meteorologist Jason Samenow:

The move to washingtonpost.com will give our content greater reach and align us with one of the Internet's top destinations for news and information. In time, our access to washingtonpost.com's information technology resources will enable the roll-out of new innovative tools and multimedia.
None of the volunteers who put together the independent weather forecasting site will be quitting their day jobs. But the relationship with washingtonpost.com will allow them to get paid for their labor of love.

The fruits of that labor will now be a blog called the Capital Weather Gang. We're pleased to welcome them to The Washington Post family.

... And if you were wondering if more seasonable winter weather will return to D.C., the warm temperatures will fade away by the end of the week.

  • That's great news; much deserved congratulations to them. CapitalWeather has been an excellent resource so the broader reach is a wonderful thing.
