» First Date: Ruth was Steve's date to the West Point 500th Night Ball, which celebrates 500 days until graduation.

» How He Proposed: On the weekend of Ruth's birthday, Steve dropped to one knee in front of a picturesque pond.

» Stupidest Fight: "We got into an argument about the National Guard in the Kent State shootings," says Steve. "We realized after 20 minutes that we were arguing the same point."

» Pet Names: "I call her 'Booger.'"

» Making It Unique: Since "Steve and I both moved around a lot while growing up, we're naming each table at the reception after a place each of us has lived," says Ruth.

» Wedding Jitters: Ruth is worried their "guests will get lost driving from Arlington to downtown D.C. If you miss one exit, you're done!"
