COFFEE CONNOISSEURS in particular will be pleased that Old Town Alexandria's new wine shop and coffee bar, Grape + Bean, had its soft opening this past weekend.

Not only does it feature the Counter Culture coffee beans that people are crazy about — also available at Murky Coffee, Tryst, Open City, Baked and Wired and Big Bear — but it's the first place in the area to show off the Clover, the $11,000 one-cup coffee brewer that's programmed according to cup size, brew time and water temperature to flatter clarity and flavor notes for every bean and blend.
