Eating Around: Eat Your Greens

2008_03_28_sonoma.jpgWHILE HOUSE SPEAKER Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., wrestles with lawmakers for a more environmentally friendly Capitol Hill cafeteria, neighboring Sonoma Restaurant has been supporting sustainable practices for years.

Not only does Sonoma use biodegradable to-go containers made from recyclable materials and operate by 100 percent wind power, but it also serves locally grown and raised produce, meats and seafood.

Looking ahead to spring and keeping with the green theme, chef Drew Trautmann will feature fiddlehead ferns paired with morels and an herbed chevre fondue. And look for the regional favorite -- crabs -- to appear on the menu soon.
