Trail Blazer: Bond With Other Cyclists

WHAT DOES BICYCLING have to do with James Bond? "I honestly have no clue," says Washington Area Bicyclist Association events assistant Henry Mesias. Regardless, the first film of WABA's Bike in Movie 2008 duo is the 007 classic "The Spy Who Loved Me" (July 10, 8 p.m., see Waba.org for details); the second, on Aug. 7, is "A View to a Kill."

Don your dapper Bond or Bond girl best and pedal over to the patch of grass across, fittingly, from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Unlike at a drive-in, you won't have to watch Roger Moore from your saddle. Leave your wheels at the free bike valet and pick up the provided popcorn. There will also be WABA membership discounts ($25) and free D.C. bike maps. Can't make it? Bond flicks are showing through Aug. 28 (see Nomabid.org), but only these two movie showings will have bike valet service.
