Shannon, 23, works in public relations for a trade association. Brad, 29, is a senior consultant. They are finalizing plans to build their home in Poolesville, Md.

» The Main Event: The couple will be married in a ceremony Nov. 1 with 160 friends and family in attendance. The reception will be held in a refurbished barn near Hagerstown, Md.

» How They Met: In 2006 at the May Music Festival in Memphis, Tenn. "That day, we saw the Gin Blossoms," Shannon recalls. "We rode a John Deere tractor and danced in the rain, and talked until 3 a.m. about family."

» First Date: He took her riding.

» When She Knew: "I told my mom I was going to marry him less than three days after we first met," she says.

» How He Proposed: Says Shannon, "At Christmas, Brad surprised me with a trip to Malta. On our first night in Valletta, we walked the cobblestone streets to Hastings Gardens, which overlooks the harbor. As the sun was setting, he said, ‘You aren't wearing any jewelry. I can't have that.' And he pulled out a flawless ring. He had to ask me more than once because I was crying and so excited."
