B.I.O.: Tending to Their Love

FINDING TRUE LOVE at a watering hole is rare. (Well, unless you're Jenine and Shane — see above right.) Yet, technically, Lauren Pierce didn't meet Andrew Peters at one: She met him behind the bar he was tending at Tenleytown's Babes Billiards. And it's a good thing she did. "A creepy guy was sitting next to me bothering me," she recalls. "Andrew pretended to be my boyfriend. He put his keys in front of me and said, 'Go on home, honey. I'll meet you there when I get off.' I was hooked. "Soon, after a dinner at Mama Ayesha's in Adams Morgan, there was no need to fake it. When Lauren's grandmother passed away a few months after they started dating, it became clear to Andrew that she was the one. "I had no hesitation in dropping everything to be there for her." Last October, he took it a step further by popping the question while they watched the sun set along the Tampa Bay harbor. They'll wed Oct. 11 in a formal ceremony in D.C.

Andrew, 31, is a personal banker. Lauren, 25, is a regional marketing specialist. They live on Capitol Hill.
