ADAM, 30, WORKS AT Mercer Human Resources Consulting. Jennifer, 29, is a research associate at the Georgetown Public Policy Institute. They live in D.C.

» The Main Event: Rabbi Harold White will marry the couple on April 18 in the District.

» How They Met: In March 2003, at the Front Page bar in Dupont Circle. "My eye was caught by a giant man wearing a bright-yellow button-down shirt with Sugar Daddy candies printed all over it," Jennifer says. "Adam happened to be standing next to this man, so my thought process was something like, 'Wow, what a hideous shirt! But the guy to the left of him is cute.' Adam caught me staring and came over and introduced himself."

» How He Proposed: "On the fifth anniversary of the day we met," remembers Jennifer, "Adam brought me the Sunday paper, coffee and gluten-free chocolate croissants in bed." She then started reading the comics. "Eventually, Adam asked me, 'How's "Get Fuzzy" today?' Jennifer says. "I flipped to that page and saw he'd written "Look up now" in the last panel. He held up the ring and asked if I'd marry him."
