He won't achieve his goals unless he changes his methods.
By str , Posted October 12, 2009 4:20 AMHe won't achieve his goals unless all the naysayers, who are rabidly resisiting change and wanting him, and therefore the country to fail, start to change their methods.
By Anonymous , Posted October 12, 2009 7:22 AMIt will. Anyone who is ridiculing our President for receiving this high honor is a hater.
By Frank , Posted October 12, 2009 8:14 AMAre you kidding me?
By Emma , Posted October 12, 2009 9:07 AMObama winning the Nobel Peace Prize will NOT affect his thinking or his strategy to bringing back the U.S. The only thing that the Nobel Peace Prize will be helping is his EGO!
Shouldn't the man win the Nobe Peace Prize for actually achieving his goals?
My goal is world peace. I'll take a Nobel Peace Prize please. Thanks!
By Jason Yang , Posted October 12, 2009 9:36 AMWill buying a condom help someone have sex? No. Obama is just full of rhetoric and does not really want to go against the good ole boy club of the democratic party. To be a trully good president, he will have to cast aside any party affiliations and look out for the entire country, not just the democrats, not to mention the wealthy.
By F Castillo , Posted October 12, 2009 9:37 AMWinning the Nobel Peace Prize will most certainly help President Obama achieve his goals of Peace, Prosperiy, Gender Equality, Justice and Love -- for ALL PEOPLE.
Already the foaming-at-the-mouth dogs of the rightwing have shown their true colors. They are pure evil and total hatred -- through and through. They are the people who supported nad encouraged the illegal and totally corrupt Bush/Cheney regime of warmongers, cronies, and thugs. They are the same people who led us to attack an innocent country (Iraq) and who caused the slaughter of at least a million people in that country that WE invaded.
The Nobel Prize has caused these war criminals and their enablers to show who they really are -- people who love war and people who will do anything to stop a man who has brought Hope for a Change to a New Era.
The Nobel Prize shows just how greatly our President, Barack Obama, is beloved by peace-loving people throughout the world. It exposes those who hate President Obama and who wish that he would fail as the war criminals and monsters they really are.
By showing the world the real nature of those who oppose President Obama and his efforts to usher in a New Era of Peace, Prosperity, Gender Equality, Justice, and Love, the Nobel Prize will most certainly marginalize even further the war-mongers -- the war criminals -- who would keep the US in a state of perpetual war. It will not be long before NO ONE listens to them any more. Fox News -- along with all the white men who spew hatred and venom on hate radio -- will soon be off the air.
There are many reasons to applaud the actions of the Nobel Committee this year. One big reason is that, by ultimately silencing those who oppose the efforts of President Obama, it will be easier for President Obama to do what an overwhelming majority of the American People elected him to, and to give Hope for Real Change to the rest of the World.
By Zora Hopkins , Posted October 12, 2009 10:30 AMDoesn't anyone think that this is neutral, and that it will neither hurt nor help? This wasn't a question about whether you think Obama or his detractors are jerks.
By Perplexed , Posted October 12, 2009 10:53 AM@ Zora
Obama may have a progressive agenda, but will ultimately be defeated by a corrupt congress; the Rethuglican Party (AKA, The Party of NO) and their loyal sidekicks, the Dumbocrat Party.
Campaign finance reform now!
By V , Posted October 12, 2009 10:53 AMThe world and supporters of him in the US are apparently hopeful that this will be the case.
Unfortunately he probably won't be able to 'achieve his goals' unless all the naysayers, who are apparently resistant to any change, instead are just wanting him, and therefore the country to fail, start to change THEIR methods.
By Anonymous , Posted October 12, 2009 10:54 AMNo. If President Obama was so deserving of this prize, he wouldn't "need" it to achieve his goals. I note that he failed to win the Nobel prize in Economics, which should have been his goal. But obviously no one actually considered nominating him for that in February.
By another person , Posted October 12, 2009 11:24 AMIf by goals you mean that global nuclear disarmament mumbo jumbo, ha!, not a chance. Oh, but launching the rabid right into a frothy-mouthed fit of apoplexy, hellz yeah!, mission accomplished!
By Diogenes , Posted October 12, 2009 12:06 PMIdeally, he would have achieved his goals--or at least some of them--before being nominated for, much less winning, the prize, but I can only hope this will spur him to push harder to undo the damage of the past eight years.
By VeggieTart , Posted October 12, 2009 1:28 PMNo. The only way President Obama will achieve his goals, if these crazy right-wingers, looney Glenn Beck followers and Jim Crow thinking Republicans get off his back for every move he makes. Once he has the state of mind that people has his back and support, only then will he be able to achieve his goals.
By Dawn , Posted October 12, 2009 3:39 PMEveryone keeps blaming congressional Republicans for Obama's failures. The congressional Democrats are equally culpable.
Whats the difference between congressional Republicans and Democrats? The Republicans take their bribes in $1000 increments, the Democrats in $500 increments.
By V , Posted October 12, 2009 5:52 PMAbsolutely. Since his primary goal seems to be for everyone to love him, winning another popularity contest will surely help him out.
By Special Olympic Bowler , Posted October 12, 2009 5:58 PMNothing but hypocrites here. Slander for Bush was fine, but when the shoe is on the other foot all the crazies come out of the cracks like a room full of cockroaches when the lights are turned off. Why does health care change not take effect until 2013 if it is so important that we must pass it now? This just in, the Baucus Bill in the Senate will cause our rates to go up by $4000 more than previously projected by 2019 and to think that health care reform was supposed to lower our costs. I am surrounded by hypocrites here in D.C.
Zora you Racist LOON. Where is your proof of over 1 million dead in Iraq? According to the corrupt Pelosi-hating CIA there are less than 29 million people in Iraq so you are insinuating that we have killed 3.5% of the population there. Way to support the troops you idiot. Maybe you should move to Iran, North Korea, Cuba, or Venezuela since you seem to want to live in a Dictatorship you senile old bat. The fact that the president is afraid to face the music on fox news shows that he is full of it and a coward himself. Bush 3 won the Nobel Peace Prize as a slap in the face to Bush plain and simple.
